What Does Life Surge Believe

What Does Life Surge Believe

Life Surge exists to end a divide most Christians never chose, they just inherited it. Somewhere along the way, “ministry” got defined as pastors, missionaries, and nonprofits, and everything else, business, finance, the marketplace, got quietly filed under secular. Less spiritual. Less significant to God’s work in the world. We think that divide is unbiblical, and we built this entire organization to close it.

The Divide We Refuse to Accept

Here’s the pattern a lot of believers grew up inside without ever naming it: church work counts as kingdom work. A business career, an investment portfolio, a marketplace job, that’s the stuff you do to pay the bills so the “real” ministry can happen somewhere else, on someone else’s payroll.

Scripture never actually drew that line. Colossians 3:23-24 tells believers to work at whatever they do with their whole heart, as if working for the Lord, not for people, because it’s the Lord they’re ultimately serving. That instruction isn’t addressed to pastors. It’s addressed to whoever’s reading it, wherever they happen to work. 1 Corinthians 10:31 goes even further, folding every action, not just the obviously spiritual ones, into the same purpose: whatever you do, do it for God’s glory. Even Genesis backs this up before sin ever enters the picture. Adam is placed in the garden to work it, in Genesis 2:15, before the fall, before any hint that labor was a consequence rather than a calling. Work was part of the design from the start, not a compromise added later.

We think the secular-sacred divide has cost the church something significant: generations of believers who assumed their marketplace work was spiritually neutral at best, a distraction from their real calling at worst. We built Life Surge to say otherwise, out loud, on purpose.

What We Actually Believe, Plainly

Before anything else, here’s the foundation. Life Surge is a Christian company, and we mean that as a theological claim, not a marketing category. We believe in the Trinity, one God in three persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We believe Scripture is inspired by the Holy Spirit and written by human authors under that inspiration, fully accurate and fully true. Everything we teach, about money, about business, about the marketplace, gets built on that foundation, not around it.

God Owns It All

One premise sits underneath everything Life Surge teaches: God owns it all. Not most of it, not the portion labeled religious. All of it, your time, your talent, and your treasure. That means the question every believer is actually answering isn’t how much of this belongs to me. It’s how well am I managing what already belongs to Him.

Where We Believe the Greatest Move of God Will Happen

Here’s a conviction we hold that shapes almost everything else: we believe the greatest move of God in this generation won’t happen primarily inside a church building. It’ll happen in the marketplace, through believers bold enough to bring their faith into rooms that assumed it didn’t belong there.

Scripture already has a track record of this. Lydia, a dealer in purple cloth in Acts 16, ran a business and became the first documented convert in Europe, hosting the church in her own home afterward. Priscilla and Aquila made tents for a living and discipled Apollos, one of the sharpest teachers in the early church, on the side of their trade. Daniel served inside a pagan government at the highest level and never stopped being unmistakably faithful while he did it. Joseph ran Pharaoh’s entire economy and used that exact position to save the nation that would become Israel. None of them stepped out of the marketplace to do kingdom work. They did kingdom work from inside it.

That’s the model we’re building toward. Not a retreat from the marketplace into safer, more explicitly religious spaces, but a generation of believers bold enough to bring their faith directly into boardrooms, trading floors, and property closings, the same places Lydia, Daniel, and Joseph never left.

Why We Believe in For-Profit Companies Built With Purpose

Life Surge is a for-profit company, and we think there should be a lot more of us. Not despite our faith, because of it.

The assumption that legitimate ministry has to happen through a nonprofit or church, funded by donations isn’t a biblical requirement. It’s a cultural one. Deuteronomy 8:18 credits God directly with giving people the ability to produce wealth, tied to His purposes, not treated as spiritually suspect the moment it involves a profit margin. A company built with Kingdom purpose at its center isn’t a compromise between business and ministry. It’s what happens when the divide between the two finally comes down.

Our Mission and Purpose

Our mission is to inspire, train, and equip people to surge their resources and influence for Kingdom Impact. Every event, every piece of training, every conversation we have exists in service of that one sentence.

Underneath the mission sits our purpose, the reason any of this matters at all: to know Him and make Him known. John 17:3 defines eternal life itself as knowing God, and Matthew 28 commissions every believer to make that same knowledge available to others. Resources and influence are tools toward that purpose. They were never meant to be the purpose itself.

Where Investing Fits Into All of This

Investing and real estate are two of the tools we teach, and they matter, but they’re an entry point into the larger mission, not the mission itself. For a lot of believers, learning to invest is the first time they’ve ever stepped into the marketplace on purpose, with their faith fully in the room instead of left at the door. That’s the value of the training: not just the skill itself, but the boldness it builds to bring faith into a space most believers were taught to compartmentalize away from it.

The Invitation

We believe the secular-sacred divide has kept too many believers quiet in exactly the rooms where their faith could matter most. Life Surge exists to change that, one believer, one boardroom, one investment, one bold conversation at a time. Know Him. Make Him known. Everywhere, including the marketplace.
