Joe Mazzulla

Currently in his third season as the head coach of the Boston Celtics, Joe Mazzulla guided the team to the 2024 NBA Championship with a 16-3 postseason record for the second-highest playoff winning percentage (.842) since 2002-03. Mazzulla led the Celtics to their 18th NBA championship, the most in NBA history. He became the youngest head coach to win the NBA Finals since 1968-69, when 35-year-old Bill Russell led the Celtics as a player-coach.

In his first two seasons, Mazzulla compiled a 121-43 regular season record (.738) and went 27-12 (.692) in the playoffs. Boston posted a 64-18 record in 2023-24, marking its NBA-record 14th 60-win season.

Mazzulla is in his sixth season with the organization after three years as an assistant coach. He also coached the Maine Red Claws of the NBA G League. Before joining the Celtics, he was head coach at Fairmont State, compiling a 43-17 record, and previously coached at the NCAA Division II level.

Mazzulla played four seasons at West Virginia University, making four NCAA Tournaments and earning Big East Academic All-Star honors three times. He and his wife Camai have two children.
